Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the leadership of the retail business unit
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, provincial and federal laws
- Provide practical legal advice to support business activities
- Negotiate commercial contracts and support corporate transactions
- Conduct legal and regulatory research
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
- Law degree from a recognized university and a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or the Law Society of Ontario
- 3 to 5 years of experience in business/commercial law
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Proven ability to provide practical legal advice and work collaboratively
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and strong decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (French and English)
