About the role

  • Regulatory Counsel supporting Binance's legal efforts in Brazil by handling approvals and contract negotiations. Driving legal strategy and compliance within a fast-paced blockchain organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support Binance’s Brazil efforts by analyzing and pursuing necessary legal matters such as local approvals, authorizations, and licenses
  • Lead the development and implementation of group legal strategy and contribute to the company’s overall business strategy
  • Proactively identify legal issues, propose solutions, and determine support required to provide strategic assistance to local teams
  • Manage regulatory approvals, authorizations, and license applications, including related legal analysis and filings
  • Assist in negotiating contracts across different business lines within the ecosystem and support a range of transactional and corporate governance initiatives
  • Draft and review legal documents, providing comprehensive risk assessments and recommendations to enhance business value while mitigating downside risk across multiple areas of the company
  • Support business teams in launching and developing new products and services, navigating commercial and regulatory considerations
  • Provide legal training and counsel to non-legal colleagues to strengthen legal acumen across the organization
  • Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws relevant to your practice area to provide strategic advice and promote compliance
  • Identify developments in the legal and regulatory framework, align approaches, and promote consistency of legal strategy among internal stakeholders
  • Take prudent risks within the context of the overall business, and advise on and implement solutions to address identified issues

Requirements

  • Qualified to practise law in a Brazilian jurisdiction
  • 4–6 years of relevant legal experience at a global law firm and/or as in-house counsel in the financial industry or a fast-paced technology company
  • Regulatory experience with the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central) and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários) is highly desirable
  • Strong team orientation and proven cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Solid legal technical expertise combined with sound business judgment and people skills
  • Hands-on approach and ability to work independently while managing complex projects
  • Ability to develop creative, practical solutions to meet current and evolving business needs
  • Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational abilities
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Portuguese
