About the role

• IT System Administrator managing Linux infrastructure at matelso in Kaiserslautern, ensuring optimal performance and system availability. Seeking a proactive team player with strong German and English skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of the entire matelso infrastructure
• Monitor SaaS systems using centralized management tools (Zabbix, Grafana)
• Administer and configure Linux server systems
• Basic knowledge of automation and orchestration of our processes on physical and virtual servers
• Support tasks in server operation and deployment, including on-site trips to the data center
• Independently manage projects in the infrastructure and operations domain
• Service-oriented and proactive collaboration with internal development stakeholders (DevOps)

Requirements

• Relevant completed degree or vocational training (e.g., IT specialist) with a suitable focus on Linux IT administration
• Initial professional experience supporting system landscapes
• Solid experience with Linux servers and Kubernetes/container ecosystems
• Knowledge of network administration is an advantage (routing & firewalls, VoIP, Cisco, MikroTik)
• Excellent German and English language skills are required.
