About the role
- Senior AI Software Engineer driving innovation through design of scalable AI solutions at Manulife. Leading technical direction, mentoring teams, and shaping enterprise automation and AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead the translation of complex business requirements into technical specifications and system designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement high-impact AI solutions
- Architect and develop full-stack AI solutions, ensuring scalability and maintainability
- Design and build advanced user interfaces, APIs, and backend logic for AI systems
- Apply advanced coding practices, design patterns, and automation strategies
- Conduct technical “spikes” and feasibility studies to mitigate risks in AI adoption
- Optimize AI models and algorithms for performance, accuracy, and ethical compliance
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including deployment and support guides
- Ensure seamless integration with enterprise platforms and data ecosystems
- Champion responsible AI principles including fairness, transparency, and governance
- Monitor and continuously improve deployed AI agents and systems
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in software development or automation, with 2+ years in AI or low-code platforms
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, and API-based integrations (e.g SharePoint, M365, Azure, ServiceNow, Salesforce, WD, etc)
- Experience with Azure AI services or equivalent AI services, Power BI, and Dataverse is a plus
- Strong understanding of agentic AI, prompt engineering, and workflow orchestration
- Proven ability to influence technical strategy and deliver scalable, ethical enterprise-grade AI solutions
- Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, including autonomous agents, memory, and goal-driven behavior
- Demonstrates strategic adaptability to evolving technologies and ethical AI design principles
