About the role
- Data Engineer building and maintaining Azure data pipelines for analytical use cases at Manulife. Collaborating with teams to support business while aligning with IT security.
Responsibilities
- Gain deep understanding of data by collaborating with business and advanced analytics partners
- Propose technology improvements or innovative solutions to solve business problems
- Collaborate with Architecture, security and risk teams and implement latest guidelines
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using tools such as terraform
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated code deployment
- Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies
Requirements
- 5+ years of previous data engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience working in enabling azure related data technologies
- Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure including subscriptions, resource groups, resources, access control with RBAC, Azure AD integrations, password management, data protection, and networking concepts
- Bachelor’s in computer/IT or data related fields required
- Excellent knowledge of Data visualization: PowerBI
- Strong hands on knowledge of Azure Databricks, ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Python, PySpark, and T-SQL
- High proficiency in GIT/Jenkins/dev ops processes
- Good understanding of data modeling/data marts/Lake house architecture, data privacy and compliance regulations and best practices
