Associate Manager Technology Audit responsible for key risk audits, technology assessments, and complex audit projects at Manulife.
Responsibilities
Execute large, complex and sensitive audit projects including key risk audits, systems development audits, SOX/MAR audits, etc.
Develop risk assessments and audit approach for auditing information services and technology
Understand the company’s technology strategy and proactively identify areas of emerging risks
Reach agreement with management regarding risks affecting the technology unit and develop audit programs to evaluate these risks
Execute multiple simultaneous projects within time budgets while ensuring quality of execution
Produce meaningful audit reports that articulate the position on risks and related issues
Assist in developing and implementing a strategy for ongoing assurance over information services
Identify opportunities to automate testing using internal tools or market solutions
Perform inherent risk assessments of assigned audit units annually
Propose changes to information services audit units and maintain records of risks and key activities
Requirements
University degree in accounting, information systems, or other relevant degree plus auditing/accounting designation (CPA, CA) or recognized IT audit/security (CISA/CISSP or similar) designation
3-5 years of relevant experience
Experience working in a client-facing, matrix, project-based organization
Working knowledge or prior experience with information systems and operations used in the insurance and financial services industry
Experience analyzing complex data sets
Prior experience auditing various software development environments, including Agile
Ability to comprehend business processes and identify risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make practical recommendations
In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, system development methodologies, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently
