About the role
- Associate Manager Technology Audit responsible for key risk audits, technology assessments, and complex audit projects at Manulife.
Responsibilities
- Execute large, complex and sensitive audit projects including key risk audits, systems development audits, SOX/MAR audits, etc.
- Develop risk assessments and audit approach for auditing information services and technology
- Understand the company’s technology strategy and proactively identify areas of emerging risks
- Reach agreement with management regarding risks affecting the technology unit and develop audit programs to evaluate these risks
- Execute multiple simultaneous projects within time budgets while ensuring quality of execution
- Produce meaningful audit reports that articulate the position on risks and related issues
- Assist in developing and implementing a strategy for ongoing assurance over information services
- Identify opportunities to automate testing using internal tools or market solutions
- Perform inherent risk assessments of assigned audit units annually
- Propose changes to information services audit units and maintain records of risks and key activities
Requirements
- University degree in accounting, information systems, or other relevant degree plus auditing/accounting designation (CPA, CA) or recognized IT audit/security (CISA/CISSP or similar) designation
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in a client-facing, matrix, project-based organization
- Working knowledge or prior experience with information systems and operations used in the insurance and financial services industry
- Experience analyzing complex data sets
- Prior experience auditing various software development environments, including Agile
- Ability to comprehend business processes and identify risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make practical recommendations
- In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, system development methodologies, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently
