About the role

  • Execute large, complex and sensitive audit projects including key risk audits, systems development audits, SOX/MAR audits, etc.
  • Develop risk assessments and audit approach for auditing information services and technology
  • Understand the company’s technology strategy and proactively identify areas of emerging risks
  • Reach agreement with management regarding risks affecting the technology unit and develop audit programs to evaluate these risks
  • Execute multiple simultaneous projects within time budgets while ensuring quality of execution
  • Produce meaningful audit reports that articulate the position on risks and related issues
  • Assist in developing and implementing a strategy for ongoing assurance over information services
  • Identify opportunities to automate testing using internal tools or market solutions
  • Perform inherent risk assessments of assigned audit units annually
  • Propose changes to information services audit units and maintain records of risks and key activities

Requirements

  • University degree in accounting, information systems, or other relevant degree plus auditing/accounting designation (CPA, CA) or recognized IT audit/security (CISA/CISSP or similar) designation
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in a client-facing, matrix, project-based organization
  • Working knowledge or prior experience with information systems and operations used in the insurance and financial services industry
  • Experience analyzing complex data sets
  • Prior experience auditing various software development environments, including Agile
  • Ability to comprehend business processes and identify risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make practical recommendations
  • In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, system development methodologies, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently
