About the role

  • Head of Data Protection and Privacy at MAG, ensuring compliance with GDPR, PECR, US privacy laws. Leading data protection strategy and managing regulatory relationships in a diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and best practice across GDPR, PECR, US state privacy laws, and ISO27001/ISO27701
  • Drive the data protection strategy and manage regulatory relationships
  • Lead a team to embed a culture of privacy compliance
  • Act as the nominated Data Protection Officer for MAG and CAVU
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Information Commissioner's Office and other regulatory bodies

Requirements

  • Experience in data protection, compliance, or cybersecurity
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR, PECR, ISO27001, ISO27701, and US privacy laws
  • Proven experience managing compliance programs and liaising with regulatory bodies
  • Ability to define and implement a data protection strategy
  • Experience developing and enforcing policies, risk management frameworks, and audit programs
  • Ability to influence and advise senior leaders
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Ideally holding certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPT, ISO27001 Lead Auditor/Implementor, CISM, or CISSP.
