About the role

  • Maggie™ Court Reporter keeping official records for legal proceedings at Magna Legal Services. Utilizing proprietary software and working alongside attorneys in various settings.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping the official written record of legal proceedings
  • Administering the oath to a witness prior to proceedings
  • Monitoring and editing realtime transcription of the spoken word
  • Protecting the official record by intervening in crosstalk
  • Gathering and preserving information for the final written record
  • Managing transcript delivery timelines and client communication
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure quality standards

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s is preferred.
  • Notary Public certificate is required; assistance in obtaining is provided.
  • Court Reporting Certification is encouraged; assistance in obtaining it is provided.
  • Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexible to a hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and in-person work.
