About the role

  • Paralegal supporting capital markets transactions in Latham & Watkins office. Involved in documentation management, due diligence, and providing updates to attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and managing closing checklists, signature pages, and closing binders
  • Performing basic tasks in connection with capital market transactions including with respect to prospectuses, under-writing agreements, fee mandates and financial statements
  • Helping prepare due diligence questionnaires and support due diligence processes
  • Tracking and managing deadlines for transaction timelines, filings, consents, and other corporate governance matters, including diarising and sharing reminders with the team
  • Coordinating signatures and document execution with clients and internal teams
  • Providing timely updates and status reports on deliverables to attorneys and clients

Requirements

  • Possess the ability to accurately interpret and understand legal concepts and procedures as they relate to practice areas
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that convey professionalism and responsiveness
  • Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
  • Relevant experience as a paralegal in a law firm working with the Capital Markets practice
  • Advanced proficiency in English is required
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant jurisdiction
