Responsibilities
- Collaborate with corporate staff and management to build a high-performing roadway design engineering team
- As the team grows, lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Foster a positive workplace culture, exemplifying the company’s core values
- Ensure the professional growth and development of department team members
- Manage local agency and DOT roadway design projects
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of roadway design projects
- Plan, organize, and direct activities of project teams and/or direct reports, including project management, design, and construction oversight
- Perform QC/QA as needed
- Coordinate with the Roadway Discipline Leader and Regional Leader to develop and implement strategies for regional market penetration
- Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business with local agency and DOT clients
- Represent the company at industry events and expand the company’s brand recognition within the region
- Collaborate with the company’s other service lines to effectively promote our capabilities and cross-sell services
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications
- You may also be involved in other various responsibilities and projects in this role.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 12+ years of progressive experience in roadway design with extensive ODOT experience
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Experience with project management and accounting software
- Exceptional organization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
