About the role
- Junior DBA Analyst helping with database creation, management, and support at Dotz. Focused on SQL and NoSQL systems and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, configuring, and maintaining databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, Datastore, and PostgreSQL, ensuring efficiency and reliability;
- Perform backup and data recovery tasks to ensure data availability and integrity;
- Manage database access, granting and revoking permissions according to established security policies;
- Responsible for handling database-related support tickets;
- Oversee and maintain the automated report generation system, ensuring reports are delivered effectively across the company;
- Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve database performance issues;
- Monitor database performance and recommend optimizations to improve system efficiency;
- Contribute to the implementation of data security policies, including access control and encryption;
- Detect and remediate security vulnerabilities in databases;
- Ensure data integrity by maintaining tables, indexes, and data structures;
- Perform cleanup and archiving of obsolete data;
- Provide technical support to internal teams and users on database-related issues;
- Support database-related change management (GMUD) workflows;
- Keep documentation of database procedures, configurations, and policies up to date;
- Stay informed about trends and advances in database technology to improve skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
- Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database management systems, such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Datastore, Redis, MongoDB, etc.;
- Familiarity with SQL language;
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a team and good interpersonal communication skills;
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
