Supportability Engineer analyzing and influencing the design of next-generation defence technology products. Ensure high performance, reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Own and contribute to a range of Supportability analysis tasks
Develop and apply through-life costing principles
Tailor programmes of work to applicable standards and guidance
Apply Supportability tools effectively and appropriately
Contribute confidently to team tasks and technical outputs
Work closely with cross-functional disciplines as part of daily programme activity
Produce work independently, exercising sound engineering judgement
Support and develop other team members
Identify problems independently and propose practical solutions
Peer review colleagues’ work
Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Experience supporting design reviews and customer meetings, presenting ILS evidence and guidance
Experience working on mission-critical programmes with awareness of the Defence Logistics Framework and Def Stan 00-600
Understanding across ILS methods including supportability analysis, software support, safety, supply support, maintenance and progressive assurance
Experience applying AR&M methodologies within engineering projects
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trust
Higher National Certificate or above in a relevant engineering or science discipline, or equivalent industry/defence experience
Familiarity with tools such as PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability, Reliasoft, OPUS, Simlox, Matlab/Simulink, Raytheon EAGLE suite, Jira or Python.
