About the role

Responsibilities
- Performing a wide range of environmental engineering tasks
- Conducting industrial facility inspections
- Assessing pollutant sources
- Developing operational source control best management practices (BMPs)
- Preparing stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)
- Supporting technical evaluation of data and development of recommendations for permit compliance
- Assessing structural source controls and treatment alternatives
- Assisting in the preparation of discharge monitoring report submittals and technical reports
- Preparing written documentation for permit applications
- Implementing field activities such as sample collection
- Operating and maintaining existing stormwater treatment systems
- Travel within the Pacific NW region and working on early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering with related coursework in hydraulics and hydrology, aqueous chemistry, and/or wastewater treatment
- 0-4 years of relevant professional experience
- Certification as an engineer in training (EIT) is highly preferred
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with State and Federal environmental regulations in the Pacific Northwest is preferred
