About the role

  • Senior Associate executing hardware/software integration engineering tasks for next-generation technologies. Involves troubleshooting, verification, and validation of complex systems in Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing hardware and software integration and system characterization and troubleshooting during verification and validation of complex systems.
  • Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and flight test.
  • Assess, troubleshoot, and develop mitigation strategies for system issues at the assembly and sub-assembly levels.
  • Maintenance of test equipment.
  • Work with team-mates to solve parts vendors issues.
  • Learn and contribute during design, develop, build, integration, test, verification, and validation cycles.
  • Ensure deliverables are in accordance with requirements.
  • Collaborates across multidisciplinary (mechanical, electrical, software, and specialty engineering) team.
  • Assists with simulation development and analysis to predict system performance in various environments.
  • Analyze data from design verification test efforts.
  • Track technical performance results.
  • Authors test plan/procedures, non-conformance reports, requirements, and other system engineering CDRLs.
  • Contributes to trade studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required.
  • Experience in unmanned aircraft or guided weapon systems.
  • Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products.
  • Entry level experience in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Hands-on system integration experience, cross-discipline engineering, verification and validation testing, and system performance characterization.
  • Entry level experience integrating typical payloads like sensors or communications into air vehicles.
  • Entry level experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C#.
