About the role
- Senior Associate executing hardware/software integration engineering tasks for next-generation technologies. Involves troubleshooting, verification, and validation of complex systems in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing hardware and software integration and system characterization and troubleshooting during verification and validation of complex systems.
- Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and flight test.
- Assess, troubleshoot, and develop mitigation strategies for system issues at the assembly and sub-assembly levels.
- Maintenance of test equipment.
- Work with team-mates to solve parts vendors issues.
- Learn and contribute during design, develop, build, integration, test, verification, and validation cycles.
- Ensure deliverables are in accordance with requirements.
- Collaborates across multidisciplinary (mechanical, electrical, software, and specialty engineering) team.
- Assists with simulation development and analysis to predict system performance in various environments.
- Analyze data from design verification test efforts.
- Track technical performance results.
- Authors test plan/procedures, non-conformance reports, requirements, and other system engineering CDRLs.
- Contributes to trade studies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required.
- Experience in unmanned aircraft or guided weapon systems.
- Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products.
- Entry level experience in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems.
- Hands-on system integration experience, cross-discipline engineering, verification and validation testing, and system performance characterization.
- Entry level experience integrating typical payloads like sensors or communications into air vehicles.
- Entry level experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience with MATLAB, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C#.
