Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems
- Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval
- Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design
- Conducts investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications or requirements
- Performs product development activities including drawing creation and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Competency in avionics/electronics packaging design
- Proficient completion of verification testing as defined by the mechanical specification and test plan
- Experience with Space Avionics/electronics packaging design, assembly and test
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 drawing standards
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience for design
- Competency with CAD tools (Solidworks and CREO preferred)
