About the role

  • Systems Engineer involved in developing automation systems for warships and military projects. Collaborating with teams for technical planning, integration, and verification in Bristol, UK.

Responsibilities

  • Performs requirements management, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Requirements

  • Equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience; or post graduate Degree and up to 4 years of prior related experience working on complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent understanding of systems concepts, context, boundaries, interfaces, system hierarchy and the principles of system partitioning in order to help manage complexity;
  • Understands the characteristics of good quality requirements, elicitation methods and tools;
  • Reasonable experience of DOORS
  • Experience of utilising MBSE and use of System Architect or Rhapsody would be beneficial.
