Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver internal audit engagements, ensuring quality and insight at every stage.
  • Manage risk and assurance projects across multiple sectors, from scoping to reporting.
  • Analyse processes and identify opportunities for improvement using data-driven insights.
  • Provide practical recommendations that enhance governance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to design fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of financial processes and finance functions.
  • Experience in internal audit and/or project auditing or transformation activities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft financial management systems (e.g., Business Central).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A track record of coaching and developing others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Professional services experience and knowledge of the Canterbury market (a plus!).
