About the role
- Lift Tester for KONE conducting tests and inspections of lift units across the North East. Collaborating with site personnel and reporting to supervisors while ensuring safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Test lift units in accordance with the relevant test documents and KONE standard interpretation of EN81
- Test lifts within timescales set
- Commission equipment following agreed specifications and commissioning instructions
- Conduct technical assessments, identify faults, and record abnormalities for corrective action
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Carry out final inspection and sign the Final inspection document
- Liaise with relevant site personnel to ascertain state of lift
- Manage on-site communication with the customer for day-to-day testing and commissioning activities with a continuous coordination with Supervisor
- Participate in meetings and workgroups related to quality and technical matters
- Ensure lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift
- Report lift condition and progress to the Supervisor responsible for site activities
Requirements
- NVQ4 in Lift engineering or equivalent qualification
- Willingness to complete the NVQ4 Mods module if not already achieved
- Previous experience as a Lift Tester is desirable
- Good computer literacy
- Good written and spoken English
- Clear UK driving licence
