About the role

  • Controls Engineer II at Körber developing control system designs and implementing PLC code for material-handling systems. Collaborating with engineers and troubleshooting equipment on-site, requiring significant travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control system designs
  • Deploy and commission PLC code
  • Create graphical user interfaces for material-handling systems
  • Test code functionality before deployment
  • Troubleshoot on-site
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineering on control network architecture
  • Define electrical device requirements
  • Support estimates, review customer standards, and develop recommendations for productivity improvement and cost reduction
  • Complete the software quality process through the execution of complex module, subsystem, and system test procedures
  • Can travel up to 70% of the year, working short-duration assignments up to and including multiple 10/4 rotations, depending on the project requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of work experience in the material handling industry or a similar industry
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming, including GuardLogix and Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming, including Starter
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings and understanding HMI programming
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills
