About the role

  • Senior Platform Engineer delivering cloud-native, self-service platform services for Knauf Group. Collaborating in Azure environments and managing Kubernetes clusters while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver cloud‑native, self‑service platform services; collaborate with engineering leadership to align capabilities with business needs and technology roadmaps across Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Automate infrastructure with IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, ARM) and lead/optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps); drive DevSecOps by embedding security into infra, pipelines, and runtime, enforcing IAM/RBAC, network security, and secrets management.
  • Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS, GKE) and containerized workloads; ensure high availability, scalability, and security while tuning performance and reliability.
  • Optimize observability—monitoring, logging, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic); implement cloud governance and cost‑optimization strategies to improve efficiency and developer experience.
  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting to minimize downtime; mentor junior engineers; evaluate and implement new technologies; promote automation and continuous improvement to reduce manual operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in platform engineering/DevOps/SRE; expert in Azure and cloud‑native architectures, with multi‑cloud experience
  • Strong in IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep, ARM) and advanced CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps); deep Kubernetes knowledge (AKS, EKS, GKE) plus API gateways, service mesh, and microservices.
  • In‑depth cloud security: zero‑trust, IAM, RBAC, and secrets management; comfortable working in DevSecOps environments.
  • Hands‑on with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic); strong scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go); solid networking, including VNET, VPN, Private Link, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross‑team collaboration; experienced in Agile/federated setups; able to drive platform strategy and influence enterprise‑level technical decisions.
