About the role

  • Commercial Accounting Senior Manager overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance and collaboration within Kenvue. Driving process improvements and team mentorship in commercial accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team responsible for all activities related to commercial accounting, including sales, gross to net sales accounting, rebates and promotions accounting, billings, deferrals, reserves, sales to COGS reconciliations, and revenue recognition for the North America region.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in Canada and the US, such as regional CFO and Sales Finance Managers, I2C and Deliver team to ensure proper understanding of business drivers and financial impact on sales and BME.
  • Oversee the accounting operations related to Billed Marketing Expenses (BME) and royalties, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition in line with global accounting standards.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the organization's revenue cycles and business models.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
  • Liaise with Legal Entity Controllers to ensure audit compliance and assist with any audit requests received.
  • Support ongoing improvements and automation projects within the Commercial Accounting team.
  • Remain updated with industry trends, changes in accounting rulings, and the latest technologies to ensure the team is evolving as per industry standards.
  • Fostering global standardization and optimization initiatives across all business units, collaborating regularly on the development and adherence to documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with the key aim to implement and maintain one consistent, high-quality standard across regions.
  • Participate in the audit process and liaise with Legal Entity Controllers to ensure sound financial practices.
  • Ensure adherence, monitor, remediate and align compliance responsibilities with stakeholders.
  • Manage, mitigate, and escalate risks on a timely basis.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place to achieve SOX compliance.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with essential functions such as Legal Entity Controllership, Business Unit Finance, Technical Accounting, and other Finance Operations Managers.
  • Manage the Commercial Accounting team and provide mentorship and training for career development.
  • As a member of the Reginal Controllership team, assist in attracting, developing, and retaining a highly competent, high-performing, motivated and diverse team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent is required, preferably in accounting or finance.
  • Fluent English, other language skills desirable, confidence in presenting to Senior Management in English
  • Extensive experience in accounting, problem solving, process improvement, and communication
  • Proficient experience in management/supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Ability to frame clear & concise communication across all relevant stakeholders
  • Be open to new ideas, rapid change, and embracing new technologies
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach
  • Successfully manage a team, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines
  • Ability to drive process and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge preferable
  • Lead/Participate in other Regional/Global/Cross functional duties as assigned
  • Experience in a Commercial Accounting department
