Responsibilities
Provide engineering, safety and certification knowledge across a variety of vehicles, weapons and specialized equipment programmes.
Support initial certification, legislation compliance, safety & environmental cases and technical delivery of projects.
Develop a portfolio of project deliveries and hone consultancy skills.
Mentor more junior engineers and graduates.
Lead technical delivery of projects across the land spectrum within the defence environment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
At least 2 years’ experience of working in, or technically leading, multi-disciplinary engineering teams in the defence land domain.
Can demonstrate their understanding of the different safety aspects of a project/systems life cycle.
Holds a degree or has equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience of working in or with DE&S.
Be a practitioner in one or many of the following disciplines: Safety & Roadworthiness; Cyber Security for Roadworthiness (ISO/SAE 21434:2021); Land Certification (DEFSTAN Def Stan 23-015, Land System Certification (LSC)) Regulatory & Legislative Compliance; or Modifications and configuration control.
Previous/current experience as an engineering consultant.
Working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
