About the role

  • CloudOps Database Engineer Designing and maintaining AWS Aurora PostgreSQL databases for Katalon's multi-tenant SaaS platform. Collaborating with teams to ensure database security, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS Aurora PostgreSQL databases for a multi‑tenant SaaS platform, ensuring compliance with security, performance, resilience, and cost‑efficiency requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement database solutions for new and existing services, in alignment with Katalon database standards.
  • Perform database tuning, optimization, and capacity planning to ensure high performance and stability.
  • Monitor database systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support release management activities in collaboration with Business, Application Development, and Technical teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents and performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Plan and execute major and minor database upgrades using strategies that minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and building relational database systems.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, AWS preferred.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL administration and development tools (e.g. pgAdmin).
  • Strong expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working in Agile, ITIL‑aligned, fast‑paced DevOps environments.
  • Ability to write scripts and automate tasks on UNIX/Linux systems.
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with source control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of additional database technologies (e.g. MySQL, Redshift).
  • Experience with database partitioning and/or sharding.
  • Hands‑on experience with Terraform or infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
