About the role

  • Operationstechnische Assistenz supporting surgical operations at Florence-Nightingale-Krankenhaus in Düsseldorf. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and ensuring hygiene standards in the operating room.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare instruments and assist during surgical procedures as part of an interdisciplinary operating room team
  • Provide support to surgeons
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth workflow in the operating room while adhering to strict hygiene standards
  • Independently prepare surgical documentation
  • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, anesthesia and OR assistant staff, and nursing professionals
  • Intensive hands-on training directly in the operating room, complemented by theoretical instruction
  • Practical placements in the medical device reprocessing unit, emergency department/ambulatory care, anesthesia, endoscopy/cardiac catheterization lab, and a nursing internship

Requirements

  • Upper secondary school leaving certificate (Abitur), technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife), intermediate secondary school certificate (Mittlere Reife) or an equivalent completed school education, or a completed vocational training of at least two years, or a state-recognized nursing helper/assistant qualification
  • High reliability and a professional working approach
