Responsibilities
Oversee summary and analysis of third-party energy storage market reports, including extraction and visualization of assumptions and forecasts and review of ISO market design principles, and present timely updates to Market Analytics colleagues regarding trends in third-party views.
Perform research, manipulate large datasets, and build analytical tools to support evaluation of electricity market drivers and outcomes.
Assist in documentation and development of summary materials regarding Market Analytics activity and findings.
Coordinate with Finance and Origination teams to provide revenue inputs for RFP responses, commercial negotiations, and investment cases, ensuring fidelity and standardization of revenue assumptions as advised by senior members of the Market Analytics team.
Support execution of energy storage revenue modeling.
Maintain Jupiter’s library of market reports and forecasts.
Contribute to Market Analytics team recommendations for use by Jupiter’s management, investors, and Board of Directors to support the evaluation of commercial opportunities and investment decisions.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or other quantitative discipline
Strong interest in electricity market concepts, including market fundamentals and market design principles
Strong competency in data analysis and visualization using tools including Excel, R, and/or Python
Understanding of statistical concepts and methods
Understanding of or interest in energy storage technology and how to incorporate its technical parameters into economic analysis and tools
Effective ability to communicate quantitative concepts
High comfort level with small teams & organizations, with initiative and enthusiasm to formulate new ideas in collaboration with co-workers.
