Electrical Engineer role involving collaboration on designs for various infrastructure projects. Position focusing on electrical systems for municipal and industrial applications with a respected consulting firm.
Responsibilities
Participate in multi-discipline project teams to produce electrical design and construction drawings and specifications.
Create designs for electrical equipment, power and control systems, with knowledge of PLC’s, programming, wiring schematics, ladder logic, and industrial network architecture.
Perform load calculations, transformer sizing, conductor selection, and develop single-line diagrams and panelboard schedules.
Create NEC-compliant construction drawings for service upgrades and system conversions.
Electrical design efforts for municipal infrastructure including lift stations and irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and client specifications.
Provide CEI support by documenting electrical installations and resolving contractor design questions to ensure alignment with safety and design standards.
Communicate technical evaluations, write reports, and coordinate with clients and project stakeholders.
Manage design tasks within budget and schedule constraints.
Review equipment supplier submittals and support bidding and construction phases.
Conduct startup and commissioning field services for electrical systems.
Stay current with the National Electric Code and other relevant standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Electrical discipline desired.
Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering design experience.
Engineer Intern (EI) certification required; PE license desired or ability to obtain.
Experience using the following software tools:
Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC and Operator Interface Terminal
SKM Power Tools
AutoCAD
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid driver’s license as driving is an essential part of the position.
