About the role

  • Elektroingenieur EPLAN responsible for hardware architecture design for GEA's Grasso plants. Engaging in project planning, troubleshooting, and improvements in electronics engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and design the hardware architecture for the portfolio of Grasso systems.
  • Develop electrical concepts for standard products and complex custom solutions in compliance with applicable standards (e.g., EN 60204-1).
  • Create, revise and review detailed circuit diagrams, layout drawings and manufacturing documentation using EPLAN P8.
  • Responsible for item data management and maintenance of electrical master data.
  • Size and select electrical components such as protective devices, contactors and frequency converters (VFDs), and calculate thermal power losses to ensure optimal cooling of control cabinets.
  • Coordinate with the software department to define I/O lists, bus systems and communication interfaces, and to configure the hardware topology within the control environment.
  • Produce test protocols, bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation. Support troubleshooting and perform hardware acceptance tests (FAT) internally or at customer sites.
  • Participate in optimizing manufacturing processes for switchgear assembly and standardizing assemblies to increase design efficiency.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or vocational qualification as a state-certified technician with a focus on electrical engineering/design.
  • Solid, several years of experience in electrical design using EPLAN P8 (ideally including Pro Panel); confident handling of macro projects and item master data.
  • In-depth knowledge of switchgear and plant engineering, and experience in sizing drive systems and sensor technology.
  • Familiarity with current safety standards and directives (e.g., Low Voltage Directive, EMC).
  • Basic understanding of industrial controllers (PLC) and fieldbus systems such as Profinet or Modbus to ensure integration of hardware into the control architecture.
  • Fluent German for internal technical coordination and good English for documentation and international communication.
  • Structured and precise working style with strong attention to detail. Willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams and take responsibility for the electrical safety of equipment.
