About the role

  • Senior SAP FICO Consultant leading financial process design and implementation at Syntax. Collaborating with global finance teams to drive successful customer transformations across diverse industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design workshops with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements across FI and CO modules.
  • Translate business needs into robust SAP solution designs (Blueprints, Functional Specs, Process Maps).
  • Configure SAP FICO following best practices in S/4HANA and/or ECC environments.
  • Support data migration activities, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Guide integration with other modules such as MM, SD, PP, and HR.
  • Execute testing cycles (SIT, UAT), prepare test scenarios, and ensure delivery quality.
  • Provide go‑live support, hypercare, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Analyze and resolve complex functional issues in FICO.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
  • Provide guidance to key users on process execution and new functionalities.
  • Work closely with technical teams by providing clear functional specifications.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders globally to ensure alignment and process consistency.
  • Participate in financial transformation initiatives, automation, and optimization streams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on SAP FICO capabilities and financial process optimization.
  • Lead customer workshops, demos, and training sessions.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support their functional development.
  • Contribute to proposals, estimations, and pre‑sales activities when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years experience as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant
  • Strong hands‑on experience in both SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking) and SAP CO (CCA, PCA, Internal Orders, Product Costing, COPA)
  • Experience with S/4HANA Finance is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and controlling flows.
  • Proven experience delivering successful SAP implementations and AMS support.
  • Expertise in financial closing processes, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of integration points (MM, SD, PP, PM).
  • Ability to write clear functional specifications and collaborate with development teams.
  • Experience with Fiori apps, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), and modern S/4HANA finance innovations.
  • Strong communication skills in English and French.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead workshops with senior finance stakeholders.
  • Mentorship mindset, supporting junior consultants or interns when needed.
  • Structured, proactive, and comfortable working with global multicultural teams.
