Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communications strategies to build London Transport Museum's reputation
  • Increase public awareness and support
  • Grow and enhance the Museum's audience and community
  • Corporate communications strategy development
  • Media relations including pitching ideas for features and developing ongoing relationships
  • Draft press releases and manage press mailing lists
  • Write communications copy and manage production and distribution of communication materials
  • Use social media channels and e-communications to support corporate communications
  • Manage internal and external events including press launches and familiarisation visits
  • Represent the Museum at industry forums and establish relationships with key partners

Requirements

  • Strong strategic PR, communication and marketing skills
  • PR and marketing techniques

  • Analytical skills
  • Database management including press database experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills including engaging press releases and promotional copy
  • Ability to build personal and organisational relationships particularly with the media and transport sector
  • Flexible, with ability to work under pressure to meet changing and multiple deadlines
  • Attention to detail and proofreading
  • Knowledge of PR and marketing
  • Knowledge of print, broadcast and online media
  • Event planning
  • Knowledge of current/emerging technologies, trends and best practice in PR, marketing and communications
  • Strong knowledge of data protection, privacy law and the GDPR and how this applies to data management and CRM.
  • Knowledge of database/CRM marketing
  • Experience in print production
