About the role

  • Understand the high-level business processes and data architecture across diverse systems (ERPs, CRMs, PIMs, MDMs, BI/Reporting, and AI data platforms).
  • Collaborate with business data experts, data governance managers, and technical architects to enhance the enterprise data model, defining key entities and semantic relationships.
  • Map existing assets within the corporate data platforms to prioritise standardisation based on business priorities and facilitate easier data consumption.
  • Identify and assess database structural requirements, supporting self-service capabilities through consolidation, normalisation/denormalisation, and rationalisation practices.
  • Define how MDM streams integrate across functional domains and business units to enable consistent, high-quality data that supports core business processes.
  • Model standardised and reusable datasets that can be consumed easily and with trust (e.g., through the Data Marketplace).
  • Document key business processes in BPMN (2.0) and ensure metadata completeness regarding data coverage and freshness.
  • Apply and enforce the Group Data Governance framework and Data Architecture Policy, ensuring adherence to Medallion architecture principles and data risk management requirements (confidentiality, privacy, access, and retention).
  • Guide business data experts and IT teams on implementing data quality controls aligned with business data quality requirements.
  • Evaluate logical datasets and implementations to ensure compliance with Group Framework and governance standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, governance, or solution design within large or complex data environments.
  • Proven ability to translate business processes into functional data architectures and reusable data models.
  • Experience designing data ecosystems that balance performance, scalability, and governance.
  • Familiarity with modern data architectures (e.g., Medallion, Lakehouse) and MDM integration best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strategic mindset and hands-on problem-solving ability.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal.
