About the role

  • Senior Analyst providing guidance on global trade topics for LATAM at Johnson & Johnson. Focused on compliance, customs valuation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Act as key contact towards the segments to govern and conduct controls check of key import/export data such as product classification (HTS), country of origin, customs valuation, and validation in customs systems.
  • Ensure compliance with classification requirements, certificates of origin, and export control regulations across LATAM.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of customs, import and export processes, including control of export operations.
  • Monitor and analyze operational and risk data to prepare analytical reports.
  • Lead internal assessments and report on issues found and develop and follow through on remediation efforts with operations teams.
  • Guide J&J regional segments on emerging and existing import and export trade regulations.
  • Participate in key projects to represent Trade Controls requirements and ensure efficient and compliant trade flows.
  • Support deployment of Global Standards in the countries of responsibility.
  • Support implementation of digital solutions across the region.
  • Maintain trade controls documentation and processes, including review and remediation for process improvement.
  • Collaborate across teams and functions (R&D, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain) to build trust, influence, empower self and others, practice diversity and inclusion, and make informed and timely decisions.
  • Measure, monitor, and govern compliance, operational performance, and regional third-party providers per global process and scorecards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience (Supply Chain, Transport & Distribution, Logistics, International Studies, Legal, Economics, Financial).
  • Strong understanding of customs and international trade regulations with LATAM focus.
  • Experience with, or strong interest in, the functional area of Customs or Trade Compliance, with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Preferably experience and/or training in HTS code determination, customs valuation principles, rules of origin, free trade agreements, incoterms, AEO in LATAM, classification processes, and export control requirements.
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation, including certificates of origin and customs validation procedures.
  • Customer-oriented and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex topics into clear advice.
  • Spanish or Portuguese (Plus) & English proficiency (Required).
  • Data-driven mindset and confidence working with digital tools and systems.
  • Experience developing and managing audit requirements and processes.
