About the role

  • I&C Engineer supporting operation and maintenance of control systems for advanced electronics manufacturing. Focused on optimizing instrumentation and ensuring system reliability in Malaysia's high-tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes current equipment; identifies areas of inefficiency and needs for improvement; designs and develops instrumentation to meet those needs.
  • Collaborates with other engineers to develop accurate, efficient equipment and instrumentation in accordance with safety and usability standards and client expectations.
  • Designs and tests prototypes of equipment.
  • Creates basic schematics and simulated models to test designs; modifies designs to meet specifications and budget requirements.
  • Oversees the implementation of new measuring devices and control systems, ensuring devices are correctly installed and properly tested.
  • Acts as project engineer for design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing development.
  • Drafts and presents formal technical documents, reports, and testing results to manager for approval.
  • Drafts technical manuals for instrumentation.
  • Provides training related to devices to employees and/or customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in facilities I&C engineering within semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with BMS, EMS, SCADA, and PLC/DCS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation for HVAC, utilities, and cleanroom environments.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards, control loop tuning, and process automation best practices.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control logic schematics.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo) for maintenance tracking.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment and support 24/7 operations when required.
