About the role
- I&C Engineer supporting operation and maintenance of control systems for advanced electronics manufacturing. Focused on optimizing instrumentation and ensuring system reliability in Malaysia's high-tech environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes current equipment; identifies areas of inefficiency and needs for improvement; designs and develops instrumentation to meet those needs.
- Collaborates with other engineers to develop accurate, efficient equipment and instrumentation in accordance with safety and usability standards and client expectations.
- Designs and tests prototypes of equipment.
- Creates basic schematics and simulated models to test designs; modifies designs to meet specifications and budget requirements.
- Oversees the implementation of new measuring devices and control systems, ensuring devices are correctly installed and properly tested.
- Acts as project engineer for design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing development.
- Drafts and presents formal technical documents, reports, and testing results to manager for approval.
- Drafts technical manuals for instrumentation.
- Provides training related to devices to employees and/or customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in facilities I&C engineering within semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with BMS, EMS, SCADA, and PLC/DCS systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation for HVAC, utilities, and cleanroom environments.
- Familiarity with calibration standards, control loop tuning, and process automation best practices.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control logic schematics.
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo) for maintenance tracking.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment and support 24/7 operations when required.
