Corporate Sustainability Specialist overseeing material compliance for global product portfolio. Identifying risks and ensuring adherence to sustainability regulations across supply chains.
Responsibilities
Monitor and implement legal requirements in the area of material compliance (e.g., REACH, RoHS, POPs, Prop 65) for our global product portfolio.
Identify, assess and prioritize human-rights and environmental risks in the supply chain (including child labor, forced labor, worker safety and environmental impacts).
Manage and report on conflict minerals (3TG) in accordance with the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation and the Dodd-Frank Act.
Implement the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR): ensure required due-diligence measures and documentation for relevant raw materials and products.
Advise and train internal departments (Procurement, R&D, Quality Management) on material requirements and due-diligence obligations.
Actively contribute to our sustainability reporting (e.g., under CSRD/ESRS) for the relevant compliance topics.
Continuously monitor the market for new or amended regulatory requirements in sustainability compliance.
Communicate with suppliers to ensure compliance with our requirements and support them in implementation.
Requirements
Completed master's degree in Materials Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience in a comparable role
Expertise in global material and chemical regulations: REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals Regulation, PFAS, California Prop 65, etc.
Experience working with common material data management systems (e.g., IMDS, SAP EHS)
Very good German and English skills, written and spoken
