About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing commercial permitting process for large-scale development projects in D.C. Metro region. Working with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure timely permits.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications via online portals to regulatory agencies across the D.C. Metro region
  • Communicate directly with agency officials to confirm submittal requirements, verify processes, follow up on application statuses, and resolve permit-related issues
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with agency representatives and clients as needed
  • Track and manage permit applications through all review stages, ensuring timely responses to comments and required revisions
  • Conduct quality control (QC) reviews on client-provided permit documents prior to submission
  • Identify potential permitting risks and schedule impacts, and collaborate with Senior Project Managers to develop mitigation strategies
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries via email and phone, maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Prepare project updates, reports, and presentation materials for client meetings
  • Provide regular internal updates on permit status and contribute to team meetings and project planning discussions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years in a detail-oriented, administrative, or project coordination role
  • Prior experience in a construction-related or permitting environment
  • Strong organization, communication, and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience coordinating with municipal or regulatory agencies (preferred)
  • Familiarity with permitting software or online submission portals (preferred).
