About the role

  • Senior Accountant overseeing day-to-day accounting functions for Intelligent City. Fostering sustainable urban housing and leveraging renewable resources in an innovative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day accounting and reporting functions
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle across payables, receivables, payroll coordination, and month-end close
  • Partner closely with internal teams and external advisors
  • Lead full-cycle month-end close including reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Maintain general ledger integrity
  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Ensure accurate job costing and WIP reporting
  • Collaborate with project managers to track project margins and progress billings
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Coordinate semi-monthly payroll and benefits administration
  • Prepare and remit GST/HST and other statutory filings
  • Support year-end working paper preparation and liaise with external accountants
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals.
  • Document and refine accounting workflows and internal controls
  • Partner with CFO to strengthen financial reporting practices
  • Grant report preparation and submission
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or candidacy is an asset
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Prior experience with Epicor, or another mid-market MRP system, an asset but not required
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and cloud-based accounting tools
  • High attention to detail, proactive communication, and strong analytical and organizational skills
  • When on the production floor or construction site, wear appropriate protective equipment, such as a hard hat, hearing protection, safety work boots, and safety glasses. Must provide your own CSA approved 6” safety footwear.
  • Ability to provide proof of the right to work for the Company in Canada.
  • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check
