About the role
- Data Science Intern transforming complex data sets into actionable insights for Intact Insurance. Join a diverse tech team for a summer internship focusing on innovative data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Transform complex data sets into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
- Complete high-quality coding and leverage commonly used packages & libraries to perform other assigned technical tasks.
- Gain experience working with various types of data, including geomatics, telematics, textual data, and image data.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a field related to artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or any other related field.
- Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the summer term in hybrid mode from May 4 to August 21, 2026.
- Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Fall 2026 following your internship.
- Be bilingual (English and French).
- Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
- Experience in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or deep learning.
- Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with NLP/LLMs is an asset.
- At least one previous internship in a similar or related role is an asset.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology.
- Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility.
