About the role

• Mechanical Test Engineer supporting mechanical testing and CAD design at ICEYE in Espoo, Finland. Focused on vibration tests and development of testing jigs for advanced satellite systems.

Responsibilities

• Supporting mechanical testing engineering processes including vibration/shock testing, and CAD design for testing jigs.
• Successful coordination and completion of vibration tests for new subsystems.
• Successful coordination and completion of vibration tests for new-generation satellites.
• Delivery of custom mechanical testing campaigns meeting project requirements.
• Mechanical interfaces for vibration, shock, and other mechanical tests designed and validated.
• Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) designed, assembled, and verified for operational readiness.
• Effective contribution to the development and optimization of test jigs.
• Comprehensive and accurate technical documentation delivered.

Requirements

• MSc degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with R&D projects.
• Prior experience in Autodesk Inventor/Vault (or ability to switch from a similar design/PDM software).
• Prior experience with FE (Finite Element) analysis tools (Hypermesh, ANSYS, Nastran, etc.), including statics, modal and dynamics.
• Prior experience in developing clean sheet designs and developing them to a conceptual working prototype.
• Creation and interpretation of manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative and communicate effectively.
• A positive attitude and a desire to learn new things.
• Willingness to travel to testing facilities (~7 times per year).
• Hands-on approach: be prepared to use a screwdriver!
