About the role
- Senior Process Safety Engineer at Hydro focusing on Bauxite & Alumina with responsibilities in risk management and safety analysis. Collaborating with various teams to enhance operational safety in complex industrial environments.
Responsibilities
- Will work in a corporate, cross-functional role within Bauxite & Alumina (B&A)
- With a focus on Mining, Metal Refining and Projects
- Strengthen process risk management for high-complexity operations
- Apply hazard identification and process safety risk analysis methods (HAZOP, LOPA, Bow Tie, FMEA, and others)
- Contributing directly to accident prevention and protecting people, assets, and operational continuity
- Will report directly to the Senior Corporate Manager, Health & Safety – B&A
- Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Project teams, and unit HSE teams
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering
- Specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering
- Practical experience in Process Safety in high-risk industrial environments
- Proven experience applying Process Safety methodologies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, Bow-Tie, PHA, MOC)
- Experience working in cross-functional and corporate roles
- Participation in audits, technical assessments, incident investigations, or assurance activities related to Process Safety
- English (spoken and written)
- Willingness to work in a corporate capacity and travel to B&A sites
