About the role
- AWS Security Specialist designing, implementing, and maintaining security across AWS infrastructure. Collaborating with security teams to ensure compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities in a cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Audit, advise, implement, and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AWS-based solutions
- Develop and deploy secure architectures, leveraging AWS security services such as IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS) within the AWS environment
- Continuously monitor and analyze CVEs relevant to the AWS infrastructure
- Assess the impact of identified CVEs and develop mitigation strategies
- Implement and test security solutions to address identified vulnerabilities
- Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans for AWS accounts
- Collaborate with the security team to investigate and respond to security incidents
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AWS security and cloud security operations
- Proficient in implementing and configuring AWS security services, such as IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config
- Extensive knowledge of AWS security best practices and the ability to design and implement secure architectures
- Expertise in vulnerability management, including CVE analysis, risk assessment, and remediation
- Experience in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and incident response within an AWS environment
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS) and their application in the AWS cloud
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate complex issues
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-geography and cross-functional teams
