Responsibilities
lead the development and oversee the execution of Housing CA's legislative and regulatory strategy
engage strategically with policymakers and convert evidence-based solutions into actionable initiatives
manage a team dedicated to advancing state policies and regulatory reforms
represent Housing CA in key organizational initiatives and events
collaborate with various teams to build public support for Housing CA's annual policy agenda
oversee Housing CA’s engagement in legislative and regulatory focused networks and coalitions
lead a collaborative process in forming Housing CA’s policy agenda through the Policy Committee
contribute to organizational culture and strategic objectives
Requirements
10+ years of relevant experience in policy, advocacy, and/or campaign work
in-depth knowledge of California politics and the state’s budget, legislative, and regulatory processes
experience in housing justice or a related field such as community development, urban planning, health equity, criminal justice reform, education, disability justice, food insecurity, climate justice, or labor
substantial, hands-on experience managing a legislative program and team
clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborate across lines of difference to advance shared goals
willingness to travel
