About the role
- Sr Test Engineer supporting the development and operations of New Glenn space vehicle at Blue Origin. Collaborating on test plans, procedures, and safety for human spaceflight.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Vehicle Test Lead by establishing and carrying out test development engineering activities in accordance with Blue Origin standards and practices
- Working with the design and systems engineers to plan tests of the vehicle subsystems
- Developing test methods to efficiently complete coordinated system testing
- Supporting development testing to reduce program risk
- Developing procedures and software automation that will be used in launch operations
- Developing, procuring and fielding ground support equipment
- Writing test procedures and managing procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns
- Implementing safety policies during test planning and operations
- Solving issues that come up during testing
- Reducing, analyzing and archiving test data to support verification tasks
- Mentor other test engineers
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
- 5+ years of current technical hands-on experience
- Experience developing, writing and updating test procedures
- Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on experience with hazardous testing with a strong safety record
- Experience leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer
- Strong focus on test safety
- Experience with formal verification and certification processes
- 5+ years of current technical hands-on experience in at least one subject area of: Fluids, Thermal, Propulsion, Avionics or electrical hardware and/or software, Structures, Ground Operations, Flight and/or Ground Autonomy.
