About the role

  • Legal Counsel II managing strategic sourcing and procurement excellence for Teleport's logistics solutions. Collaborating on special projects and providing end-to-end legal support across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Counsel on special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and IPO readiness activities.
  • Support the management of the Group’s intellectual property, including trademarks, software, and IP-related commercial agreements.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations across Malaysia, Singapore, and/or Indonesia, including drafting and reviewing standard commercial contracts.
  • Draft, review, and support negotiations of a range of legal documentation, including commercial and operational contracts.
  • Provide practical legal support to business teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate matters.
  • Support internal governance processes, including preparation and review of board materials and contract approval workflows.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of legal processes, including contract templates and legal trackers.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized institution and called to the Bar (Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia or any equivalent common law jurisdiction).
  • 5 - 7 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to logistics, M&A, corporate transactions, and/or intellectual property matters.
  • Prior exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams, and external advisors across multiple geographies.
  • Experience handling fast-moving and high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively.
