Responsibilities
Support the General Counsel on special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and IPO readiness activities.
Support the management of the Group’s intellectual property, including trademarks, software, and IP-related commercial agreements.
Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations across Malaysia, Singapore, and/or Indonesia, including drafting and reviewing standard commercial contracts.
Draft, review, and support negotiations of a range of legal documentation, including commercial and operational contracts.
Provide practical legal support to business teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate matters.
Support internal governance processes, including preparation and review of board materials and contract approval workflows.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of legal processes, including contract templates and legal trackers.
Requirements
Law degree from a recognized institution and called to the Bar (Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia or any equivalent common law jurisdiction).
5 - 7 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to logistics, M&A, corporate transactions, and/or intellectual property matters.
Prior exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects will be an advantage.
Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision.
Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams, and external advisors across multiple geographies.
Experience handling fast-moving and high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively.
