About the role
- Designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment for U.S. Navy nuclear projects at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding. Compiling data and defining changes required in testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment
- Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices
- Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed
- Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
- Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or the required certification and 6 years of relevant professional/exempt experience
- required certifications must be Lead Test Engineer (LTE), Shift Test Engineer (STE), Ship Safety Officer (SSO), Inactivation Test Engineer (ITE) certification, or Shift Refueling Engineer (SRE)
