Responsibilities
Develop and support automated test solutions for next-generation client optical transceivers and sub-assemblies
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality product delivery
Implement and validate automated optical test setups for client optics modules using Python or similar languages
Integrate and program electronic/optical test equipment such as Source Meters, optical power meters, Bit Error Rate Testers (BERTs), and DCA
Develop data acquisition and analysis scripts/tools to process large datasets, generate yield reports, and drive root-cause investigations
Deploy and troubleshoot test solutions on manufacturing lines
Provide training and documentation for production teams
Work with design, firmware, and reliability engineers to define test requirements, acceptance criteria, and FA (Failure Analysis) procedures
Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively propose enhancements to test methodologies, automation, and process efficiency
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, optical engineering, physics, or a related field
8+ years of hands-on experience in test development for optical transceivers, photonics modules, or high-speed electronics
Strong Python programming skills (other languages such as C#, LabVIEW are a plus)
Proficient with optical and electronic test instrumentation and automation (e.g., VISA, PyVISA, SCPI, GPIB, USB, Ethernet)
Familiarity with SQL databases for test data management
Experience with GUI development (Tkinter, PyQt, or similar) is desirable
Understanding of optical communications principles, fiber optics
Understanding of tunable lasers
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
