About the role
- Manager Engineering 3 overseeing Nuclear Propulsion-Overhaul Engineering planning at Newport News Shipbuilding. Responsible for engineering planning processes and managing departmental functions with technical and contractual deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple groups within the Nuclear Propulsion-Overhaul Engineering department
- Interface with Program Offices and Customers to define the technical definition of work for authorized work packages and coordinate contractual deliverables
- Develop and implement E81 engineering planning processes
- Manage all E81 business systems and administrative functions, including controlling direct and indirect budget, Labor Resource Management (LRM), and Earned-Value Management (EVMS)
- Source, order, and breakdown nuclear material in support of all E81 contracts
- Lead departmental drawing development across all contracts, including computer modeling to support digital products
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design
- Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
- PhD and 4 years of relevant experience
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
