About the role

  • Mechanical Engineer focused on reducing energy consumption and GHG emissions through retrofits. Collaborating in a boutique engineering consulting firm with site work in BC.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of project scopes, budgets, and design approaches for HVAC retrofits.
  • Conduct building energy assessments and contribute to engineering feasibility studies.
  • Develop conceptual designs, calculations, and input to business cases and client reports.
  • Carry out detailed mechanical building systems engineering including troubleshooting, calculations, equipment selection, drawings, and specifications.
  • Execute construction administration activities including commissioning and project closeout.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and external trade allies (consultants, contractors).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for immediate registration with EGBC.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in BC.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Bylaws, ASHRAE engineering & energy efficiency standards, and Canadian life-safety regulations.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
