Responsibilities
Join DNV’s Jack-up Engineering team and work on some of the most complex offshore energy projects in the world.
Make a difference and contribute to engineering assessments supporting the installation of offshore wind farms and the safe operation of offshore vessels globally.
Solve complex engineering challenges associated with the installation and operation of jack-up vessels used in offshore wind and oil and gas projects.
Support the delivery of engineering analyses and technical assessments for clients operating around the world, gaining practical experience while contributing to the safe and efficient installation of offshore energy infrastructure.
Work alongside world-leading experts on high-profile global engineering projects.
Perform structural analyses and site-specific assessments of jack-up units and wind turbine installation vessels operating in demanding offshore environments.
Use advanced numerical modelling and engineering tools (such as Abaqus, Sesam and in-house analytical tools) to perform structural assessments.
Take increasing ownership of technical tasks within projects, supported by experienced engineers and mentors.
Develop your commercial and project management skills by gaining direct exposure to clients and involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Minimum 2:1 Degree in Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Knowledge of structural analysis (e.g. fracture mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, stress analysis, structural design, etc.) gained via your studies
Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills (experience in Excel or mathematical modelling/programming background will be beneficial, although not essential) demonstrating the ability to produce technical reports detailing clear outcomes of the analysis for customers
Awareness of commercial and project management principles, with an interest in developing skills in project planning, budgeting and client engagement
Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise own time and activities, to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
Adaptable and reactive with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain high performance without compromising on quality, when working to challenging deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, confident in building professional relationships and demonstrates first class written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
