About the role
- Construction Project Manager II overseeing execution of highway construction projects from bid award to closeout. Managing project financial performance and serving as primary contact with PennDOT.
Responsibilities
- Owns execution of construction projects ($5M–$25M) from handoff after bid award through closeout.
- Manages overall project financial performance, overseeing budgets, cost controls, forecasting, backcharges, and change orders.
- Leads field and resource coordination, working closely with Superintendents and colleagues.
- Track progress, communicate status, and resolve issues to keep projects moving forward.
- Serves as the primary point of contact with PennDOT, maintaining daily interaction with owners and inspectors.
- Balances office and field leadership (≈50/50) to ensure work aligns with contract requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing heavy highway projects is required.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Direct engineering experience is preferred.
- Computer proficiency.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
