• Senior Backend Developer focusing on PHP and Laravel for a widely-used social intranet platform. Engage in backend systems development and optimization with a collaborative team approach.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the development and maintenance of the central backend systems.
• Work closely with frontend developers, development engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
• Senior-level ownership of backend architecture and implementation: design, develop and optimize scalable backend services using PHP (Laravel).
• Database management: develop, optimize and maintain MySQL/MariaDB databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• API development & integration: create RESTful APIs and integrate third-party interfaces.
• Real-time communication: implement and maintain WebSockets for real-time messaging and notifications.
• System architecture & performance: design scalable architectures, optimize database queries and implement caching solutions.
• Code quality & best practices: write clean, maintainable code following best practices and established design patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend developer with strong knowledge of PHP (Laravel framework).
• Experience with software architectures for high-traffic, multi-user applications.
• Excellent knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB, including database design, query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience implementing WebSockets for real-time applications.
• Solid understanding of API development, authentication protocols and web security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in German and English.
