About the role

  • Legal Engineer supporting sales and product development for legal technology company. Engaging with customers to improve legal workflows and enhancing product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with lawyers at current and prospective customers to uncover workflow pain points, recommend solutions, and show how Harvey fits into real legal work.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, translating feedback and legal workflow insights into concrete, lawyer-ready product direction.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to shape Harvey’s roadmap and ensure the product evolves in ways lawyers trust and adopt.
  • Build and refine product demonstrations, workflows, and use cases that reflect how legal teams actually work, including how AI is changing that work.
  • Introduce new capabilities in a way that’s tailored, credible, and compelling for each customer, continuously raising the bar for how Harvey is deployed.

Requirements

  • Based in Toronto and eligible to work in Canada.
  • Canadian practising certificate (or equivalent common-law qualification) with 3+ years’ experience as a qualified lawyer at a top-tier firm (e.g., Chambers Band 1 / leading national firm) or in-house at a major corporate or financial institution.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian legal workflows (corporate, regulatory, or disputes focus) and curiosity about AI’s role in reshaping them.
  • At least 3 years of experience practicing law at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house with strong exposure to complex legal workflows and client expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make confident, well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Ability to operate seamlessly across legal, product, and sales contexts—translating between stakeholders with clarity and precision.
  • Executive presence and relationship-building skills, with comfort engaging partners, senior associates, in-house counsel, and legal leadership.
  • Sales, customer-facing, or law firm business development experience is a plus, particularly where you’ve helped shape solutions rather than just present them.
